Now that we have your web site completed, what's next?

A List for Success

1)  It sounds simple, but many clients forget to include their web address (www.yourcompany.com) in all their existing advertising such as business cards, magazine ads, newspaper classifieds, etc.  Make a mental note to get this done at your earliest convenience.

2)  "Egroups" are free and effective.  Just visit www.yahoogroups.com and search some common key words that relate to your business, ie: Exotic bird breeder, Equine artist, Christmas trees, Horse breeder, persian cats, etc. and join any/all groups that have a large member base.  These types of groups are also offered by MSN, AOL and other services, so take some time to join the groups that pertain to your product(s).  Click here for a sample list of email addresses.  www.livedeal.com is another site that is a free place to advertise what you have to sell and has a lot of visitors looking to buy your items, and even allows you to place free photos of the items you are selling.  An excellent tool that is simple to learn to use and well worth the time spent to place an ad...don't forget to include your web site address!

3)  As an example, this past spring I sold a pinto filly.  I simply went through yahoo and google and searched "horse sales" to find sites where I could list my "horse for sale".  Here is a list of the web sites where I advertised her:

     a) www.dreamhorse.com
     b) www.equinenow.com
     c) www.equine.com
     d) www.equinehits.com
     e) www.freehorseads.com
     f) www.horseforsale.com
     g) www.horse-sales.com
     h) www.horsetopia.com
     i) www.horseweb.com
     j) www.thehorseexchange.com
     k) www.tacktrader.com

l) www.tackandfield.com

So as you see, as few minutes spent doing a search on yahoo, google, etc. can produce a wide variety of easily accessible sites where you can advertise (sometimes free) your products.  Be sure to list your web site address in your ad, so that visitors will see all the other goods you sell.  It might very well bring extra business your way.  I suggest that you create a list of these web sites in notepad or similar program so that you have the list handy whenever you have a new item to sell.  You could even print it and file it away so it's on hand when you need the list.  Another idea might be to keep all these sites in a special "Sales" folder in your "Favorites" of your internet browser.  EXPOSURE; it's always worth the effort.

4)  Now that you've joined the egroups, etc., what's next?  Email the groups whenever you have news, items to sell, etc.  For your convenience, I suggest keeping the email addresses of the egroups in "notepad" or a similar word processor.  It keeps them all together in one place and allows you to simply copy/paste them into an email whenever you need to post a notice to the groups.  It is a real time saver.  Click HERE for a sample listing of egroups' emails.

5)  Be sure to take advantage of your updates.  Depending upon your site's "package" you are entitled to either monthly, quarterly, etc. updates.  Visitors to your site like to see NEW STUFF!  It keeps 'em coming back for more.  The obvious updates would be anything new that you have to sell.  Example would be a "monthly special", "new products", any "new services" your company offers, etc.

6)  Email me if you have questions, comments, suggestions ideas, etc.  Sometimes clients forget that I'm here for you!  Your success is my success as well, so I enjoy assisting at every opportunity.
