Some points to ponder:

● Ease of navigation.  It's not a good thing if visitors have to "hunt" all over the page just to get "home".    Therefore I will list your site's pages and lay them out in a simple configuration for ease of navigation.

● Will you want buttons or text for your site's navigation?

● Buttons are nice, but consider the length of words for your pages.  If they are all less than 15 characters long, buttons will work.  Any page name longer than 15 characters is best put in text format rather than button format.

● Will you want an email "animation" graphic on every page?  Or do you want any animations at all.  Some consider them distracting.

● Do you want your contact information on every page, on the home page, or on a separate "Contact Us" page?  Whichever you choose, we want your visitors to know exactly where to find that information.  It is a vital part of your business.  Putting the contact information on every page can slow down page load times so consider putting it on it's own separate page.  It will be a single click on your menu for your visitors to find.

●  If you have a company logo/letterhead/etc. it will be great to incorporate that into your web site.  The information/graphics, etc. can be emailed, however it's always best to snail-mail originals and your new designer can scan them to get the best resolution possible.  Use of the originals ensures the best possible look for your web site.

●Most email services offer "mail signatures" and this is a terrific way to take advantage of advertising your web site with each and every email that you send.  Basically it is a way of inserting text and/or hyperlinks into the bottom of your email.  Your website address (hyperlink) can be added in this signature as can anything else you'd like.  For example, please visit us at...your site address.  And perhaps include other information/text that may be important for your business....telephone number?, address?  There's no limit in how you can set these up.  Your new web designer should be able to help you set these up for you.

The following items are taken care of by me, (and should be by your new web designer) and I feel it's important for you to have a little bit of understanding as to how your web site is "ranked" in the search engine system.

META TAGS:

Many engines rely on meta tags to index and categorize your web pages.

Your new designer should make sure that all important entry pages to your web site have at least the TITLE, DESCRIPTION and KEYWORDS META tags included in the Header section of the HTML code. This should be done BEFORE a submission.

Without META tags, some engines will not index your web site correctly, and will downgrade your ranking.

META TAG HINTS:

The following are some simple rules to help improve your page ranking using META tags. This is a general guideline only, as all engines have their own specific rules for determining page relevancy.

1. Always include the most relevant keywords first. The relative position of keywords can influence ranking on some engines.
2. Do not repeat keywords in your meta tags eg: software, softwares, soft ware, soft wares.
3. Do not try to include every keyword in the dictionary. The more keywords you have, the more you can dilute the perceived relevancy, which may result in downgrading your engine ranking on some engines.
4. Some engines do not use META tags, so try and have the important keywords also appear elsewhere in the visible text portion of your page.
